Meeting the rigorous indoor air quality emission requirements set forth by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) is an achievement Eggers does not take lightly. This program was designed to make sure the air quality for interior building materials, furnishings and finish systems meets strict standards because most of us spend a great deal of time each day indoors at home, work or school.
Our entire line of wood doors – flush and stile rail – has met the requirements for the Indoor Air Advantage Gold program. As an important issue for architects, designers and purchasers of interior building products and materials, this new certification provides these professionals with the assurance they need that Eggers is committed to adhering to rigorous environmental safety standards.
At Eggers, we place a great importance in the quality of manufacturing facilities and work hard to make sure they are clean, well-organized, efficient and safe for all who enter. Poor air quality can lead to numerous ailments such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue and allergic reactions. Other long-term health effects can include cancer, developmental disorders, heart or respiratory diseases. Naturally, poor indoor air quality negatively impacts productivity and can inhibit a manufacturer from maintaining a quality and consistent workforce.
The stringent and lengthy process of achieving certification through SCS involves an initial certification assessment which includes a detailed audit of the quality control process. SCS reviews the following:
- Comprehensive quality control system
- Documented door constructions
- Material usage documentation
- Manufacturing practices and procedures
Eggers continually looks to discover new certifications and standards to exceed and will continue to expand its green capabilities throughout 2012.
